A Quick Update

Hello readers!

Wow, so much has happened since my last post! I've been to Paris and Barcelona for spring break and this past weekend I was in the Northeastern Italian town of Ravenna for a class field study. I'm sorry I haven't been able to put up a Friday picture post. And would you look that that, we're half way into the month of April. How is that even possible?

I'm still working on my post for spring break (which will probably be broken up into two separate posts, fyi) but in the mean time, I can't leave my loyal readers hanging. I've definitely had time where I could be updating my blog, but I'll let you know why I haven't. I've been outside.

Alright, has the shock settled in yet? No? Let me say it again to prove I'm not joking. I've been outside.

To those who know me well, you're going to have to just trust me on this. The weather here has been incredibly beautiful. We're talking warm, sunny, 70 degree, dress and short wearing days. The other day I went to these beautiful gardens with my roommate and we sat and had a picnic. That night my other roommate and I learned how to open our kitchen window so we could get onto the little patio/balcony out back. I spent Sunday out there sitting in the sun and writing postcards. I just came in from there after painting my nails and reading four chapters of "The Help."

This is me in our kitchen windowsill. Note the excitement. And the shorts.

Another spot I absolutely love and will probably go to later this week is the Spanish Steps. I'll bring a book and soak up some sun and just look out to the amazing city in front of me. Lord knows I love people watching too.

Even just walking to class, I put on some good music and can't help but smile as I walk on the sunny side of the street. Maybe I've always been like this when the spring/summer weather comes around and just haven't realized or maybe there's a bit of European magic in the air, who knows.

So I probably haven't garnered any sympathy from you, reader, by trying to explain why I haven't posted anything in a while. In fact, I may have made you bitter or jealous. Whoops? Perhaps you can take this as a sign to stop and enjoy the simpler things in your day to day activities, as simple as a good song or the sun shining on your face. Until the next post, you know that's what I'll be doing.

Ciao! :)
